A Knight and a Peasant: a Comparison

I don't fancy a
Knight in shining armor
He busies himself with the
task of polishing and scrubbing
Pleased with himself, thinking
ev'ry female's a damsel in distress.

No, I don't fancy a
Knight in shining armor
His demeanor is convincing
Chivalry is maintained
Yet he cares nothing but
his reputation.

What life could he offer me?

He'll spend days and nights
galloping with his fierce stallion
slaying enemies and woes
I pity the lady who becomes his wife
for she'll feel lonely and deserted
even in her loveliest attire and castle.

Compared to him, a peasant's
more pleasant
A peasant will stay
and form a solid family
A knight will ride off
and forget his family
Stability and reality
is stronger than
jewelled hopes.
