The Poetry of Primadonna Angela

Primadonna Angela

[I Watched the Flame]

I watched the flame
Feasting hungrily on the crispy papers,
Lengthy pages of fake romance
that you once wrote to me.

Fire consumes the letters,
envelopes,
even stamps!
('though I love stamps)
What a spectacular view to behold -
the charming zephyr blew lightly;
making the flame stay longer,

the breeze was in love with me ...
caressing me, teasing me
while I merrily saw the fire enlarge.

Joy, joy, joy!
All feelings merged in one!
I should have done this years ago!
